FAQ and safety
Everything you were about to ask, and a few things you weren't.
How hard is it, really?
Every hike is rated from 1 to 5 boots, half boots included, for the ones that sit in between.
What if the weather turns?
We like the mountains even when they misbehave, and a bit of rain does not scare us. But if Italy's Civil Protection issues an orange or red weather alert for the area, the law leaves no room for negotiation: we cancel, full stop. We will let you know in good time and find a new date together.
What should I wear on my feet?
We won't ask for an ice axe and crampons, promise. But even with the sun out and the sea nearby, we are still in the mountains: trails can be uneven, slippery or full of loose stones. Leave the flip-flops at the beach, you will need hiking boots (ideally) or trail shoes with a proper sole.
I have a health condition, what should I do?
Write to us by email before booking, telling us which hike you are interested in. We will give you an honest sense of how demanding it is, so we can choose the right route together.
Can I bring my dog?
We love animals, but our trails can hide wildlife, and it's hard to predict how an unexpected encounter would go. For everyone's safety, our hikes are currently dog and pet free.
Is there a minimum age?
It depends on the hike: each one lists a recommended minimum age based on length and elevation gain. Travelling with children or teenagers? Write to us and we will find the right route for the group.
Guiding services are provided by Gaetano Buonocore, environmental hiking guide, in the exercise of a profession not organised into a professional order, under Italian law no. 4 of 14 January 2013.
